CORE COMMITMENTS

CHURCH
PLANTING

DISCIPLESHIP

God has commissioned us to proclaim the gospel and make disciples of Jesus in order to fulfill his mission in the world. We believe the primary way God’s mission is fulfilled is by planting churches that plant churches. Thus, we are committed to planting churches both domestically and internationally.

LEADERSHIP

DEVELOPMENT

God has given the church three types of leaders: Elders, deacons and members. Elders are men given the responsibility before God to oversee and care for the church’s spiritual and theological health (Acts 20:28, 1 Peter 5:1-2). Deacons are men and women that oversee and serve various functions of the church’s ministry (Acts 6:1-6). Members are those in Christ who are committed to their church by being actively involved in the church with their gifts, abilities, time and money and are actively pursuing those who believe in Jesus and those who do not with gospel intentionality. Thus, we are committed to faithfully developing each of these leaders, as well as future domestic and international church planters and teams.

God’s aim in saving us is not only eternal life but to conform us to the image of his Son, Jesus (Romans 8:29). This is what discipleship is all about, and why making disciples of the nations is the mission. Thus, we are committed to making disciples of Jesus who make disciples of Jesus.

BLESSING

THE CITY

Jeremiah 29:7 says, “But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.” Peter wrote in 1 Peter 2:11-12, “Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.” It is clear from these texts that as the church we are strangers and exiles in the land, and we are to seek the welfare of the city and be honorable members of society. Thus, we are committed to actively blessing the city both corporately and individually.
